What do we want?
We’re looking for a proactive, practical and reliable General Maintenance Operative to join our Property Team on evening shifts. This role is essential to maintaining the comfort, safety and presentation standards across both Bedruthan and Scarlet. You’ll carry out planned preventative maintenance and respond to reactive issues across guest rooms, public areas, spa facilities and apartments — ensuring minimal disruption and maximum guest satisfaction.
This is a part time role of 20 hours per week, covering evening shifts. Details to be discussed at interview.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Respond promptly and effectively to guest and staff maintenance requests
Conduct daily inspections of public and guest areas
Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance works
Maintain mechanical and plant areas in a safe and orderly condition
General maintenance of hotel rooms and apartments
Minor repairs including painting and decorating, plumbing, woodwork and lock maintenance
Maintain fridges, freezers, air conditioning filters and portable kitchen equipment
Ensure guest-facing areas remain clean and presentable during maintenance
Liaise with managers during refurbishment and project works
Report hazards immediately and uphold health and safety compliance
Complete required training modules and attend team meetings
Qualifications:
Trade qualification or proven experience within a recognised trade
Previous maintenance experience (hotel or similar environment desirable)
Good understanding of health and safety requirements
